The Avonworth Historical Society is inviting 100 generous supporters to each contribute $1,000 toward the restoration of the historic Elste’s Market at 7119 Church Avenue in Ben Avon. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to help transform this beloved former grocery store into a vibrant space for historical exhibits, educational programs, and community events. Be part of preserving our past and shaping a community space for future generations.
Your donation will directly support the essential restoration work needed to bring the historic Elste’s Market building back to life. This includes installing all-new electrical wiring, modern lighting, and replacing the flooring throughout the building. We’ll also be adding two new bathrooms, including one that is ADA-compliant, as well as insulation and new drywall to create a comfortable, safe, and functional space for exhibits, events, and community gatherings. Every dollar you give helps us transform this beloved landmark into a welcoming home for local history.

Supporters who contribute $5,000 or more to the Elste Building Restoration Project will receive a special thank-you in the form of a custom brass plaque. This plaque will be permanently displayed inside the completed Elste’s Market building, serving as a lasting tribute to your generosity and commitment to preserving the history of our community.
